Episcopal Relief and Development
Trinity holds a twice-annual in-gathering for funds raised for Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD). ERD is the Church’s best-known emergency assistance organization and according to Charity Navigator, one of the best charities in North America to pledge your donations. ERD raises funds and volunteers to provide relief in desperately impoverished areas of the world. ERD has built medical centers, schools, churches and homes in regions struck by disaster. ERD also provides mosquito netting for malaria prone areas, as well as providing other support for health and wellness endeavors. ERD offers economic opportunities to help strengthen communities. While ERD is very globally oriented, it also provides disaster relief programs in the US—recently providing assistance right here in Vermont in the wake of Tropical Storm “Irene.” Members of Trinity Church have always ensured that contributions are made in support of ERD at least two times a year.
